Previous Events

After an absence of several years - a cafe scientifique is being held in Birmingham!

Date:

Tuesday 20th May, 3:30pm

Title:

Myths about food and your health

Speaker:

Vincent Marks, Emeritus Professor of Clinical Medicine and author of Panic Nation

Vincent, a charismatic scientist, will present the facts behind modern myths about healthy eating and drinking. Using solid scientific proof, he challenges accepted advice and common misconceptions. Come along to have your questions answered or just enjoy an afternoon being enlightened and entertained.
Is organic really better for you? Should we all be taking supplements? Do 'fad' diets really work? Is there such a thing as 'junk' food? Reducing salt - worth worrying about?

This cafe scientifique is organised by members of the Association for Clinical Biochemistry in the West Midlands. This continuing project promotes awareness and understanding of laboratory medicine to the general public.
